Look what Lily Kate can do!

Good Wednesday morning!

There have been soooo many videos that I want to capture and share with you... But you know how kids are, they never ever ever do what you want when you want them to.  And Lily Kate is no exception.  I wanted to get her roaring, and now she won't roar for anything!  I wanted to get her fake sneezing, but she doesn't fake sneeze anymore...

Ninnie (my mother) did get her on video at the office the other day.  She has this toy that is a walker with a toy on the front.  For the longest time I have taken the toy off for her to play with because she couldn't stand to play with it.  Then recently I have left the toy attached and she plays with it that way.  But Monday Lily Kate decided on her own that she wanted to get behind it and...................

Wow!  What a big girl (even though the walker is really dragging her haha!).  I don't know if I am ready for this!!!

9 Month Snapshots

Ok, so she might be a little over 9 months but I finally snapped a pic of her that is worthy of being her "9 month picture"!  I snap lots and lots (and lots!) of pics of her but I wanted a pic that was her "9 month picture".  Why you might ask... because lots of the snapshots that I get (even though she is always super cute) have a crazy background or she isn't dressed decently...  I am sure you think that I am crazy, but that's ok.  My husband does too when I say that I need to take more pics...

Well here they are!  Our 9 month old Lily Kate!

Squealy Kate!

Nosy Kate!

Please note that as with  most of the pics I post, I snapped them so they are not professional!

Update on Lily Kate

We went to the dr today for Lily Kate's echo.  Her heart has two issues, both she will hopefully outgrow.  The first is a murmur, which is normal at this time.  The second is that she has a leaky valve.  Dr. Braden said that we will watch both issues and recheck in a year.  We are back at home and Lily Kate is happy happy!

Thank you God for great doctors!

9 Months already!!!

Ok, I say this every month but can you believe that Lily Kathleen Gibson is already 9 months old??? Oh, just yesterday...

Newborn Lily Kate -- leaving the hospital

1 Month

2 Months

3 Months
4 Months

5 Months

6 Months

7 Months

8 Months
and I will post her 9 month pic soooon!

So, here are some of Lily Kate's 9 month stats:

* Lily Kate likes to talk.  She can say Mama, Dada, Bye Bye, no no, and nigh nigh.  She also jabbers alot.  It is the sweetest to hear her call for Mama or Dada...  it just melts our hearts!  And what about her saying no no, hmmm do we say it too much... isn't that how she learned it haha!!!???

*  She has 7 teeth, and at least 2 more on the way.  She loves to bite...  and it hurts!  She will bite anywhere that gets near her mouth...  your shoulder, knee, nose, lip, cheek...  anywhere!  Now that she has teeth, we brush them...  and Lily Kate loves it!  Hopefully she will always like brushing her teeth...  we will just wait and see if there will be battles over making her brush them.

* Lily Kate is a motor scooter when it comes to crawling.  She can get anywhere she wants, and she gets there quickly!  She can stand up by herself while holding on to something, and she wants to walk so badly.  She tries but is still too weak.  Oh my, it won't be long and she is going to take off walking!  Life will never be the same!

* She is wearing a size 3 diaper!!!

*She still sleeps through the night, yay!!!  (Unless she is having ear probs!)  And she takes two naps, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

* Lily Kate loves everybody!!!  It doesn't matter where we go, she is going to squeal and laugh and talk to everybody that she sees!  She gets lots of attention because she is always sooooooo happy!

* Lily Kate has had ear infections between 8 and 9 months.  Let's just say it has been hard on her, and on her mama and daddy!  We have had many rough nights with no sleep and a screaming baby!  Poor Lily Kate, but hopefully we are over it!

* She has learned to fake sneeze.  Yes, fake sneeze... and it is tooo cute.  I need it on video, and then to share the video with you!

* Lily Kate is eating a little table food.  She still hates baby food, but has learned that she likes a few things off our plate.  Some of her faves are baked sweet potatoes, green beans, potatoes, and mac & cheese.

* She has finally gotten a puff from her fingers to her mouth!!!  She has been trying, but the puffs are so small that she has had trouble getting them from point A to point B.  But now she can do it!

Now for the fun stuff:

We went to the doctor today for her 9 month check up.  She weighs 18 lbs 10 oz, which is in the 50 percentile.  She is 30" long, which is in the 97 percentile, and her head is in the 90 percentile...  we always knew her head was big!  She loves Dr. Braden, and he loves her.  He said that she is finally healthy!  He said that this was the healthiest she has been since she was born - yay!!!  She has had a small heart murmor for the past few times we have been to the children's clinic (and with her ear probs, we have been there bunches lately!)...  so we are having an echo of her heart tomorrow.  He really thinks it will be normal, but wants to check it out and make sure.

Well enough for now!  I will post an update on her test tomorrow, and her 9 month pic as soon as I get it!

Oh, and thank you to all of my new followers and the comments ya'll have been writing!  It really excites me to see that somebody out there is reading!!!

Night!

Hey ya'll, it's 2011!

2010   nope!

2011

The fact that this is the beginning of 2011 just doesn't seem real.  Just yesterday I was graduating from high school and packing my bags for Copiah Lincoln Community College -- hey, it's the place to be!  And just yesterday I was going to MC to finish the degree that I should have finished 8 years ago when I started college the first go round.  And just yesterday I met Taylor while working on a group project in Business Communications.  And just yesterday Taylor and I became engaged.  Guess what, just yesterday it seems that Taylor and I got married.  Oh, and just yesterday we found out that our first baby was due on our 1 year wedding anniversary, what a SWEET SURPRISE!  Just yesterday my 8 month old baby girl was born, it seems!  It all seems like just yesterday, but in reality time flies!  Taylor likes to laugh and tell everybody that his wife was born in the 70's...  which is so long ago now that it is 2011 (yes, I am 3 years older than him... but who's counting?).  Oh my.  I am still sinking it in that I am 31 and it is 2011!

So, did you make any new years resolutions?  I did NOT!  I hate new years resolutions, and please forgive me if you disagree.  I feel like I am just setting myself up for failure...  and there are plenty of lists and things that I need to do but I don't do.  But here is what I did do. I have decided that this year I want to be more crafty.  Now I do NOT mean creative, because there are no creative bones in my body.  Not one, zilch, zero.  So by crafty I mean that I want to find things that I like, whether being decorations, or pjs, or baby stuff, etc and I want to make it myself.  Thanks to the Internet with all these DIY blogs and websites, there are tutorials and instructions out there to do and make anything!  A huge part of my list is for Christmas time, so I have plenty of days before next Christmas to practice and make perfect!  Here is a small part of my "Rebecca to make" list:

* Pjs - matching for Lily Kate and me, of course!
* Business card holders - hey, there need to be some cute ones out there!
* Burp Cloths - what a cute, easy (I hope), and economical baby gift!
* Bibs - another cute baby gift!
* Appliqued shirts for Lily Kate - one for each occasion, and even a few for everyday wear!
* Super sized snowflake decorations
* Re purpose furniture - everybody makes it look super easy to take a yucky looking piece of furniture that they find at goodwill, or a garage sale, or on the street corner and turn it into something fabulous.  They say all ya need is paint, maybe some fabric...  yeah right, this will be a hard one!

This is just a tiny sample of my oh so long, never ending, I wonder if I will ever make any of this list!  If I do get good at making something, watch out world cause it's what you are getting for Christmas!  Really, I do want to make many of this year's Christmas gifts!

Oh, and I also want to cook more.  I love love to cook.  My problem is that I just can't ever think of what to cook.  So I have been collecting cookbooks, making a list of what sounds yummy, and I have even bought some of the groceries!!!  Hey, I feel like I am already half way done by just having the ingredients -- ha!  Here are some of the recipes that I am wanting to make (not all of these are new recipes.  Some are tried and true favorites.  I just need to actually make them again, it's been so long ago!):

* Slow Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup
* Taco Soup
* Potato Soup
* Meatloaf (Which usually makes me gag, but my recipe is super simple.  No crazy, chunky stuff in this one)
* Pineapple Casserole
* Stuffed Bell Peppers (one of Taylor's favorites)
* Poppy Seed Chicken
* Tacos -- HA!  Ok, these are a weekly staple in the Gibson home.  If I make tacos once a week, I have a happy Hubby!  And how easy are tacos?!?!

The main thing on my list is to pray more.  Did you know that we are commanded to pray, and to pray about everything.  1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 says "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."  And did you know that we are to pray for our enemies?  Matthew 5:44 says "But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you."  Wow!  These are just two examples of when and how we are to pray, and there are so many more.  That's on my list!  Pray pray pray

Ok, now let me know what your resolutions are, or whatever you call your list of want-to-dos!

Rebecca

Oh my, another blog that is not about LKG!  But you know I love love love her!
