No Tear Thursday!

Lily Kate had NO tears this morning when I took her to Mrs. Ann's!  She did poke her bottom lip out a tiny bit, but I can handle that!  I was so happy that I just about fell down the steps leaving!  Mrs. Ann sent me a message about 5 minutes after I left and she said "Yay!  Woo hoo!!  No crying at all!"  Ahhh, it's gonna be a good day!

Oh, and 1 week from today -- boy or girl!!!

Splish Splash!

No, this post is not about Lily Kate taking a bath (though that is one of her most favorite things to do!).  This video is so super cute and is of Lily Kate playing with one of the toys that she got at her birthday party (thanks Wilsons!).  Taylor took it outside to give it a "trial run", and the rest is history!  Enjoy:

Yes, she is in her pjs and yes, it was probably too cold for this baby to be playing in the water.  BUT when she managed to make it out there and start playing, there was no getting her away from it!  She had sooo much fun (this is only 1 of the 5 videos I took) and as soon as she was done we rushed inside and put clean, warm clothes on her.  We are so glad this little girl likes the water!  Watch out summer, here she comes!

Good Bye Week!

This is a quick blog, with no pics.  I have to tell you about my week, and I am glad today is Friday.

Lily Kate is 13 months old today.  For the first year of her life she has been with me every day, all most all day.  With the few exceptions of an occasional shopping trip to Jackson (where she stayed with Aunt Wee Wee) or when Amanda kept her a day or two a week while I worked a few hours, she has been by my side.  And I have love it!

This week was a major change for all of us.  Lily Kate started with a full-time babysitter.  Taylor and I went and met Mrs. Ann last week, and Lily Kate started Monday.

Monday.  She looked at me when I dropped her off like why am I not going with you Mama.  I cried boo-hooed as I got back into the truck and drove off, and for at least 3 more hours.  I felt like I was leaving my baby, like I was giving her away.  Mrs. Ann is so super sweet (and has the best reputation in town) and messages me during the day to let me know how everything is going.  She let me know that Lily Kate didn't eat much breakfast, which didn't surprise me - they ate just a few minutes after she got there and she was still in shock.  She didn't play with the other kids much.  Lily Kate was the new kid, so all the other kids swarmed around her wanting to play.  This really overwhelmed her.  Mrs. Ann said she had no problem falling asleep for nap time because she was so tired and she ate a good snack.  When I went to pick her up she started crying as soon as she saw me through the door.  Lily Kate was so tired that night that she went to bed an hour early.  I cried lots that night after she went to bed.

Tuesday was bad (for both of us).  Lily Kate cried and clung to me when I went to hand her to Mrs. Ann.  Yes, I cried when I left, but had it under control by the time I made it to work.  Mrs. Ann said by the time they made it to the playroom she quit crying.  She ate today, napped today, played a bit with the others, and had a few crying spells today.  When I picked her up it was the same as Monday -- she cried when she saw me.  She also cried from when we got home until she took a nap at 5.  Yes that is a late  nap, but she walked down the hall saying Nigh Nigh...  so a late nap she got!  She woke up crying and cried until bed.  I cried a river that night.  Poor Taylor for trying to take care of both of us!

Wednesday was ok.  She cried when I went to hand her over, but she didn't cling to me.  I count that as a partial positive!  Mrs. Ann said she did pretty good during the day.  When I picked her up, she cried.  We went over to Ninnie & Poppy's and she rode the 4-wheeler and we ate supper.  She was exhausted so we didn't make it to church, and Lily Kate went to bed early again.  I cried.

Thursday was a bit different.  When I opened Lily Kate's door to get her out at Mrs. Ann's house, she poked her bottom lip out (that would make anybody tear up!).  She cried as we walked up the walkway and as I handed her over.  I kept it together and didn't cry, but wanted to.  Mrs. Ann messaged me and let me know that Lily Kate has done so much better.  She smiled today and played with everybody.  I needed to hear that!  She cried when I picked her up and was thirsty.  She kept saying juice, juice, juice.  So as soon as we got home I gave her some juice and yogurt.  Then we had to get ready for Ella's kindergarten graduation (post coming up soon!).  Lily Kate loved seeing everybody at graduation, whether she knew them or not!  She squealed and clapped and had a great night.  I didn't cry!

Friday is here.  She cried as I was getting her out of her car seat, so I started singing Pat -a-cake and she started singing while she was crying.  When we got to the "roll it" part, she cried out louder while singing roll it.  It was sad & precious at the same time!

Well, the post wasn't short like I thought it was going to be.  And I am finished for the day, so goodbye!  I'm gone to get my baby!!!

Congrats Aunt Wee Wee!

Last Saturday Aunt Wee Wee (Whitney) graduated from Mississippi College with a degree in Elementary Education.  Of course we went!  The keynote speaker was in education, and he was actually interesting.  His speech was based around Dr. Seuss' Oh, The Places You'll Go, which is one of Whitney's favorite books!  You should have seen the smile on her face when he started!  (Not to take the attention off Whitney, but when Taylor and I graduated we had a professor from the MC Law Department and he was horrible, boring, self centered, and so much more!)

She is also excited because she will be a 2nd grade teacher in Byram this next school year.  Yay!!!  Let me just tell you that she is going to be the best teacher around.  I know I am partial to her, but she just has so much love and passion for these kids.  We need more teachers like that!

I am super sad that I didn't get any pics of her in her cap and gown, but I did get a few pics during the ceremony and quite a few afterwards.  Whitney is in the middle of this first pic.  She is sitting to the left of the girl with blue cords.  Please note that Aunt Wee Wee has white cords -- she worked super hard and graduated with honors!  Yay!

And here are a few I snapped of us in the bleachers before (ok and one during...  but please don't tell haha!)

And this is one of my favorites!  Aunt Wee Wee looks sooooo excited and relieved to be finished!

And now for pics of Aunt Wee Wee with lots of family.  Somehow Lily Kate snuck in quite a few!

This is another of my faves!  Taylor and 2 of his sisters, Whitney and Kasey (better known as Aunt Wee Wee and Aunt K K).

Ok and you know I have to throw in a family pic.  Not the best, but hey it's memories!

After graduation we had a reception for Whitney at Aunt Becky's house with even more family and friends.  And good food!  Then that night we went to eat at O' Charleys.  What a great day.  Congrats Aunt Wee Wee, we love you!

Some time for Green Pea!

Everybody tells me that the 2nd baby doesn't get as much attention as baby # 1.  Green Pea is baby # 2.  Yes, it is already happening so that is why this entire post is dedicated to Green Pea... and there will not be anything in this one about LKG (you know we love her though!!!).

First of all, why is Green Pea's name Green Pea???  We found out we were expecting again and I wanted  to give Gage and Ella an idea of how tiny baby was in my tummy.  I found a website that gives you a weekly fruit or veggie that was about the same size so you could get an idea...  and at that point Green Pea was the size of a green pea and the name just stuck!  Today marks week 18 and Green Pea is the size of a:

Sweet Potato!!!

He/She weighs about 6.5 oz and is about 5.6" long from head to rump, not counting legs.  Wow, that is amazing huh!  I am just starting to feel Green Pea move around and it such a special feeling.  I know soon that I will be groaning every time he/she moves around, but for now I am enjoying it.  And do ya want to know what all Green Pea is doing?  Green Pea is passing the hours yawning, hiccuping, rolling, twisting, kicking, punching, sucking, and swallowing.  No wonder I am so tired, he/she is never still!!!

And the countdown is on -- 16 days until we know if Green Pea is a boy or a girl!!!  These 16 days will take forever, and then it will seem like forever until Green Pea gets here (due date is October 12, but Green Pea will be arriving about a week early).  So I will be counting the days on any posts for the next 16 days, but until we know for sure please leave a comment and let me know what you think.  Will it be pink or blue??? or maybe green...  after all his/her name is Green Pea!!!???
