Happy 1st Birthday Lily Kate!

Lollipop, Lollipop!  Ohhh la la lollipop...

Oh what a fun time we had at Lily Kathleen Gibson's 1st birthday party!  The weather was perfect, with the sun shining and the wind blowing, not a cloud or a rain drop in sight.  The setting was perfect, thanks to Uncle Phillip, Gage and Ella for letting us party in their back yard.  You will see in the pictures, but his yard is just beautiful.  There is a small patio that looks over his huge yard full of trees, flowers, and the funnest kid's play yard I've seen. The kids were loving the play yard and it is such a lesson learned to see how kids make friends so fast.  A simple "want to swing" and you have a new friend!  The birthday girl was super happy, loving all of the attention that she was getting from all of the family and friends that came to help us celebrate.  She made her rounds, giving love to everybody there.  The party started, and everybody enjoyed cupcakes with lollipop icing, cookies-on-a-stick that looked like lollipops, ice cream, and chips & dip.  Let's just say that Lily Kate is loved by lots and lots... we opened gifts, and more gifts, and a few more.  She got some of the cutest gifts and is wearing and playing with them already!  Now was the time for Lily Kate's cupcake.  She had an over-sized cupcake that was hers to do with as pleased.  We put her in the high-chair and sang "Happy Birthday" as we gave her the cupcake.  And she just didn't quite know what to do with it!  We had a wonderful time at Lily Kate's 1st party, and so did Lily Kate the birthday girl!  Lily Kate gave everybody a lollipop as they were leaving as their party favor -- cute!  Well, this was a short summary of the day's festivities.  There are so many more details and memories that we will treasure from now on.  Thank you to everybody that came and celebrated with us, and we missed those of you that couldn't make it.

And now for the pictures... and be prepared, there are lots!

Cute Lollipops, thanks to Uncle Phillip!

Ma ma ma ma ...

Lily Kate has a new trick...

not just saying Ma ma ma over and over, but also blowing spit bubbles!!!  So much that her whole face and shirt will be wet!

2 weeks!!!

P.A.N.I.C.

Lily Kate's 1st birthday party is 2 weeks from Saturday!  Oh my!  Where has time gone, because just yesterday we were awaiting her arrival!  I thought I had like 2 or 3 more years to plan for this...

Well I have started, and invites should go out tomorrow!  I have ordered her party favors and with the help of Aunt Wee Wee I have made a list of to-dos and to-gets.  Now I just have to start marking off that list!  Her theme is lollipops, because when she was a newborn and I was staying home with her, the Dell commercial played Lollipop, Lollipop, Ooh la la Lollipop about 9 trazillion times a day.  Well I changed it a bit and sang Lily Kate, Lily Kate, Ooh la la Lily Kate 9 trazillion times a day.

Ok, I need advice and suggestions.  Please let me know what you have learned from your little one's birthday parties.  What is a must, and what is not???

Random Catch Up

Hello

Did ya realize that it has been 2 weeks since my last post?  I tell ya, with a 10 1/2 month old and another on the way that zaps all of my energy, I can't get much of anything done these days!  I have a dirty house with unfolded clothes everywhere, a blog that hasn't been updated, and I am sure a hungry husband haha!  Well, since I haven't been able to keep up, this blog is dedicated to total random catch up.  There will be no rhyme or reason to anything that I have to say!  Here we go...

The weekend of Feb 19th was a "Bobo Weekend".  Lily Kate fell so many times and one certain fall standing outside the bathtub landed her very first busted lip.  Boo Hoo!  Here is a very bad pic of her lip.  It bled, and she cried, and so did I.  It just broke my heart.  And please notice the scratch on her right cheek.  Yep, it's from this weekend too.  And you can't see it, but she has a bruise and red spot on her forehead.  Poor Lily Kate!

Ummm  I didn't get around to posting her 10 month pic or stats.  Here she is at 10 months:

Not much has changed since 9 months.  She is sleeping the same, eating the same, in the same size diaper...  She can now say Gage, Ella, and meow (try saying meow without the e...  that's how she says it -- cute!).

She is obsessed with babies!  She will give her babies sugar and loves to see a baby when we are out and about.  She points and says baby, even to kids older than her.  Sweet!

Oh, here is something that she has just figured out she can do... but she doesn't!  I can't believe I got these pics, because she usually will not hold her sippy cup for more than .5 seconds.  And no, she has yet to hold her bottle...

We have loved the warm weather.  We have walked/strolled almost everyday, and played in the grass a bit.  This past weekend Lily Kate and her Daddy went on a 4-wheeler ride.  She doesn't want to ride, she wants to DRIVE!  She loves being outside.
Ok, a question for ya -- How many toothpicks are in a 500 count box of toothpicks?  500 you guess?  NOPE!  Try 9 bamillion 400 petrillion 26 kazillion and 342.  Yep really, and since Lily Kate has learned to open cabinets and drawers, she opened the drawer, pulled the box out, and spilled them all over the kitchen floor.  She then thought it was fun to scatter them.  I picked up toothpicks for what seemed to be hours. (ok, that was a tiny bit of exaggeration... but the number of toothpicks wasn't haha).  Get this, the next day I swept and found 2 more...  and about 2 days later I swept again and found another...  where do they come from!!??!!

And now for a teary moment -- Lily Kate has taken a total of 3 steps.  Yes I know, she is growing up way too fast.  She can free stand for a good little bit and is figuring out to take a step or two.  I keep telling her she can wait, but I don't think she is listening to me!

Taylor and I are great too.  We are just enjoying every second we have with Lily Kate and preparing for our new blessing's arrival.  We went to the dr. today and everything looks great.  We got an official due date of Oct 12 but I will be scheduled for a week early.  We won't know boy or girl until the end of May, but Taylor is already calling this one a boy (wishful thinking!).  Of course we want a healthy baby,  and we will be happy with boy or girl.  Taylor really wants a boy to carry on his name...  we will see!  Oh, and this baby's nickname is Green Pea.  That's what size he was when we told Gage and Ella, and it just stuck!

Ok, enough for tonight.  It is way late (past 8, right???) and I need every second of sleep I can get these days.  So it's off to dream land for me.  I love the dreams you have while expecting... they are great!

Night Night!

Lily Kate's new shirt

Ok, did anybody read my "Hey Yall, it's 2011!" post?  Well one of my "to dos" was to be more crafty, and so I attempted to paint Lily Kate a shirt.  Yes, it sounds crazy but I went to Wal Mart and got a plain white shirt ($3.50) and two bottles of puffy paint ($1.17 each).  So for $5.84 I made/painted her a shirt!  Tuesday night I cooked supper and Ninnie, Poppy, Mimi, Johnny Gramps, Uncle Phillip, Gage, Ella and Meg came to eat with us and Lily Kate wore her new shirt.  These pics were not taken that night (that story later).  What do you think???

Ok now for the other part of the story.  This is actually the 2nd shirt I made.  The first one I made didn't dry in time for Tuesday nights reveal...  but Taylor wanted her to wear it anyway.  So let me just tell you that when you put a wet-paint shirt on a 10 month old -- paint gets everywhere.  It was ALL over her, in her hair, on her ears, on her arms and legs, just everywhere!  Don't panic, it is non-toxic!  It got all over me and my clothes, and our bedspread...  what a mess!  what a memory!  Here is what the first shirt looked like afterwards:

So, another baby will be here early October!  We are so excited, so shocked, so nervous, and most of all so blessed.  Everything we have, EVERYTHING we have comes from the Lord.  Thank you Lord for the blessing of Lily Kate, and for the blessing of this baby.

Taylor, Rebecca, Lily Kate, and baby
